Greetings! It's a pleasure to welcome you to this week's newsletter. Although it was crafted several months back, it feels quite timely as I trek along The Camino De Santiago, where I anticipate my feet may be as sore as if they've been pressed like olives. If you would like to donate to our mission to help people through their grief and trauma, you can do so HERE

Goodness and healing are the fruit that arises from the darkness of despair. The difficulties you endure are full of nutrients for profound personal growth and to help heal others if you can shift your mindset around them.

The analogy of being “crushed as an olive”

Inwardly, you will know when you are ready for others to benefit from the fruits of your pain. For some, unless they have walked a similar path they can never fully appreciate what it has taken to bring about the goodness from the difficulty you have had to walk through.

Similarly, olives must writhe under extreme pressure to extract the nutritious oil that nourishes and heals. Before the night of Jesus’s betrayal, he went to pray at the Mount of Olives in the garden of Gethsemane, spending his final night nestled among the olive trees.

Knowing the enormity of his destiny and the immense brutality that lay ahead. At Gethsemane, Jesus had to face the full force of God's wrath against sin. The fear, anxiety and anguish of his reality overwhelmed him almost to the point of death. The name "Gethsemane" means "oil press," and it was as though the weight of God's anger over sin was pressing down on Jesus, crushing the life out of him.

The moral of the story
It is from the crushed state God, the higher power can work to bring restoration, healing and new life. Our personal restoration work is accomplished through Christ's divine grace. It is during your darkest moments of despair that you seek out spiritual nourishment and guidance. For without enduring the pain and struggles, you might have never embarked on the journey to seek the out the right path for your life.
